My Story

Dr. Miranda Kalaskey, DDS
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Miranda Kalaskey is a proud West Virginia native and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Born and raised in the Mountain State, she is thrilled to return home and open her pediatric dental practice near family — especially her father, a practicing orthodontist who has served the community for many years. Growing up, Dr. Kalaskey spent countless hours around his office, sparking her early passion for dentistry and solidifying her dream of working with children in a healthcare setting that feels personal, welcoming, and fun.

As the oldest of six siblings, Dr. Kalaskey naturally fell into a nurturing role early on — brushing little teeth, easing fears, and turning daily routines into joyful moments. Those early experiences shaped her commitment to creating a positive and efficient dental experience for kids and families alike. Her approach to dentistry is rooted in prevention, patient education, and minimizing anxiety, all while delivering high-quality care in a kid-friendly environment that runs smoothly and efficiently.

Dr. Kalaskey attended Marshall University,  then completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at West Virginia University, followed by a General Practice Residency in New York where she focused on treating patients with special healthcare needs and complex medical conditions. She then pursued her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at East Carolina University, where she learned advanced behavior management and sedation techniques, preparing her to treat children of all ages and comfort levels. She worked in North Carolina for a few years until deciding to move home!

Outside of clinical care, Dr. Kalaskey is passionate about teaching and continuing education. She proudly serves as an educator for NuSmile, where she teaches other pediatric dentists across the country how to efficiently use esthetic pediatric crowns and products in their practices. She is also a regular attendee of national pediatric dental conferences, always seeking out new technologies, materials, and methods to bring the very best care back to her patients in West Virginia. Aside from dentistry, Dr. Kalaskey loved to travel and practice yoga! She is actually a yoga teacher as well!

Dr. Kalaskey’s mission is simple: to treat every child with compassion, create an efficient high quality of care system to help families feel confident about their children’s oral health. She believes that pediatric dentistry can be efficient, educational, and — most importantly — fun. When she’s not in the office, you can find her spending time with her large family, traveling to Disney parks, or checking out the latest kids’ movies and trends to stay in tune with her young patients.
